DIGITAL-SILVER. The concept of DIGITAL SILVER is reverse technology, producing film output from digital media. The DIGITAL~SILVER idea incorporates all of dr5's services giving our clients extreme control. There are 2 methods of film recording, CRT & LVT output. The concept between the two are similar. The LVT is unsurpassed digital to film output, burning 'pixel beyond grain'. The CRT recorder is the best choice for small digital-camera or file output. The CRT software is better suited to deal with smaller files. The companies that produced these machines have sadly closed their doors. The last LVT machine was made by DICE-AMERICA in 2002. LASERGRAPHICS continues to manufacture film recorders for the movie industry but no longer produces still-film recorders. dr5chrome is dedicated in keeping this one-of-a-kind imaging equipment alive and well. We have secured parts and dedicated service tech's allowing us to provide this service as long as possible. Filmrecording is a very unique photographic service and analog tool. The cost of this service is justified by the expense of running and maintaining the equipment, the time and expertise it takes to produce image output and the cost of film and processing. You will not find a higher quality film recording service. We are also the best priced quality filmrecording service world-wide. There simply isn't any other quality way to produce what a film recorder can create. SIMPLE METHOD (negative processing) About DIGITAL SILVER dr5 interpositive B&W negatives: Like dr5, this is a unique, client controlled service. On top of the quality improvements dr5 offers, this procedure is an almost loss-less output for B&W negatives, interpositives, E6 & B&W dr5-chromes. The client has complete output control with '0' process related issues you may have experienced in the past with other LVT output. The goal is to recreate your original film or prints with lossless quality. Below explains how this service works: dr5/DIGITAL SILVER INTERPOSITIVE ~ NEGATIVES LVT & CRT OUTPUT: MAKING B&W INTERPOSITIVE / NEGATIVES INTERPOSITIVE METHOD (reversal-processing negatives) • • ADJUST YOUR NEGATIVE IMAGE on screen as you would like to see a good negative in your enlarger. If you are scanning negatives, It is important to leave your neg as it is. DONOT enhance the image to far away from your original negatives, unless you want to. Remember; THINK analog! You are making an analog negative not an inkjet print. If you are scanning a positive -flat-art or chromes; and you are wanting a B&W negative, be sure to produce on screen a negative you would like to see in the enlarger. Simply inverting the image will not work and you will have a big contrasty mess! The neg you see on screen is the neg dr5 will produce without the issues experienced with other LVT output.
SCANNED IN NEGATIVE INVERT TO RETOUCH [IF NEEDED] DO NOT ADJUST, RETOUCH THEN RE-INVERT IMAGE • IF YOU NEED TO INVERT TO RETOUCH:
• LEAVE AS A NEGATIVE. SAVE AS RGB - TIFF - IBM - NO ATTACHED PROFILES - NO LAYERS • RESULTS: This is just one example of film recording output. Contact us with any questions. dr5 |
